Dr. Richard Medina is a board-certified physician in both internal medicine and rheumatology, with specialized fellowship training focused on the diagnosis and management of complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. He brings a clear commitment to evidence-based, compassionate care — with a particular emphasis on patient education and shared decision-making.

Dr. Medina completed his undergraduate studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida, where he was honored as Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in partnership with the HCA VA Healthcare System in Orlando. He is a member of the American College of Physicians.

CLINICAL EXPERTISE

Dr. Medina specializes in the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome, scleroderma, vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. He is experienced in biologic therapies and long-term disease-modifying treatment strategies.
