Dr. Luis Ramos is a board-certified rheumatologist with over two decades of clinical experience dedicated to easing the pain and suffering of patients living with complex inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. A Fellow of both the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians, he brings academic depth, research credentials, and genuine compassion to every patient encounter.
Dr. Ramos earned his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He then completed a fellowship in rheumatology and clinical immunology at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He also holds a certification in medical humanities from Drew University, reflecting his belief that excellent medicine requires understanding the full human experience of illness.
Dr. Ramos has served as an academic preceptor for physician assistant programs at Barry University and Florida State University, and for the nurse practitioner program at the University of South Florida — investing in the education of the next generation of rheumatology providers.
CLINICAL EXPERTISE
Dr. Ramos specializes in the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, gout, vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, Sjögren's syndrome, scleroderma, and other autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. He has particular expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided joint injections and biologic therapy decision-making.
